The Pickled Sisters Cafe + Restaurant has been part of the Rutherglen culinary landscape since 1999. Now firmly established in our new location in the Main Street of Rutherglen, we are writing the next chapter of the Pickled Sisters story.
Our menus showcase the fabulous array of local produce we have available here in Rutherglen + North East Victoria.
We offer three distinct dining areas, with an elegant heritage interior, a greenery filled covered courtyard, and outdoor dining under a grapevine canopy.
Open for brunch + lunch Thursday to Monday, with dinner on Friday + Saturday nights. Thursday nights over winter are pasta nights - choose from 5 pastas + a glass of wine for $40. From September onwards Pasta Nights are held once a month on the second Thursday.
Friday nights we run a set 2 course $55 menu alongside our a la carte menu.
We are open other times by arrangement for groups of 20+.

the team
The Pickled Sisters team is headed by husband + wife owners, Stewart Gilchrist + Marion Hansford, who moved to Rutherglen in 2004 with their two sons to take over the Pickled Sisters.
Classically trained + with over 30 years experience, Scottish born Stewart cooks what he enjoys to eat, with the emphasis on quality ingredients, clean flavours + the re-interpreting of classics. A self confessed ‘sweet tooth’, Stewart’s desserts are not to be missed.
Marion is in charge of the front of house team. She + Stewart first met working at a local seafood restaurant on the Isle of Arran + it was here they fostered their love of local produce + dreamt of owning their own restaurant in the country.

Our menus at The Pickled Sisters Cafe change regularly + are designed to take advantage of the fabulous produce we have on our doorstep here in North East Victoria. They reflect what is currently in season and at its best.
Dishes are lovingly prepared, with everything from our breads, pates + terrines, to our preserves, pastry + cakes all 'home made.'
